Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles System Back Online After Brief Outage

Louisiana - The Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV) experienced a system crash on Monday morning, leaving residents unable to process various transactions. In a 12:45 p.m. update the Louisiana OMV stated that the system has been restored and all field offices can now process transactions. Residents can visit www.expresslane.org to reschedule appointments and utilize online services.

The incident began at approximately 8:55 a.m. when the OMV system went down, affecting driver's licenses, vehicle registrations, and reinstatement transactions.

According to an update from the OMV, their vendor was working diligently to restore service as quickly as possible. However, the exact cause of the system crash was not disclosed. Residents were advised to visit the OMV's website at expresslane.org to reschedule appointments and utilize online services.

By 12:15 p.m., the OMV system was still down, and officials apologized for the inconvenience and thanked residents for their patience. Fortunately, the system was restored by 12:45 p.m., allowing OMV field offices to resume processing transactions.
