Louisiana New Year’s Day Crash Claims Life of 24-Year-Old Jarreau Woman on LA 416

Rougon, Louisiana - A single-vehicle crash early New Year's Day resulted in the death of a 24-year-old woman in Pointe Coupee Parish, Louisiana State Police reported.

Hailey Saizan of Jarreau, Louisiana lost her life following a crash that occurred shortly after 6:00 a.m. on January 1, 2025. The incident took place on LA 416 at Patin Lane, according to Louisiana State Police Troop A investigators.

Preliminary investigations reveal that Saizan was driving northbound in a 2009 Ford Escape when the vehicle failed to navigate a curve in the road. The SUV left the roadway and collided with multiple trees.

Investigators noted that Saizan was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. She sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

While the cause of the crash remains under investigation, state troopers will conduct standard toxicology testing to determine if impairment was a factor. Such testing is a routine procedure in fatal crash investigations.
