Madison Parish, Louisiana – Louisiana law enforcement agencies joined forces recently in a successful collaborative effort aimed at reducing crime and enhancing public safety in Madison Parish. Operation Madison Safe Streets, spearheaded by Louisiana State Police Troop F and the Criminal Investigations Division Monroe Field Office, partnered with the Madison Parish Sheriff’s Office (MPSO) to implement proactive policing strategies.

The operation, which focused on combating violent crimes, drug trafficking, and illegal weapons possession, yielded significant results through targeted traffic stops and community assistance efforts. Law enforcement officers made over 20 arrests during the initiative, while also issuing multiple traffic citations and warnings to motorists.

Among the operation’s most notable achievements was the seizure of various illegal substances, including more than five grams of ecstasy, over one gram of cocaine, and more than two grams of crack cocaine. Officers also confiscated approximately 50 grams of lidocaine, a local anesthetic sometimes used to cut other drugs, and 40 grams of marijuana.

The operation’s scope extended beyond drug-related offenses, with officers executing a search warrant and making multiple fugitive warrant arrests. Law enforcement also removed several handguns from the streets and conducted three arrests for driving while intoxicated (DWI).

Local authorities consider the operation a demonstration of effective inter-agency cooperation, highlighting how coordinated efforts can enhance community safety through strategic law enforcement initiatives.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
