Alexandria, Louisiana – In a significant crackdown on violent crime, the Central Louisiana Violent Crimes Abatement Team (CENLA/VCAT) conducted a two-day joint crime suppression detail in Alexandria, resulting in 57 arrests and the seizure of multiple firearms, controlled dangerous substances, and a substantial amount of currency.

The operation brought together several law enforcement agencies, including the Louisiana State Police, Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office, Alexandria Police Department, Louisiana Probation and Parole, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).

As a result of the proactive enforcement efforts, officers seized multiple firearms, as well as various controlled dangerous substances, including cocaine, marijuana, and methamphetamine. Additionally, over $8,000 in U.S. currency was confiscated during the operation. The investigation remains active and ongoing, with authorities encouraging the public to report any suspicious or criminal activity in their community.

To facilitate this, the Louisiana State Police has an online reporting system that allows the public to submit anonymous and secure reports of suspicious or criminal activity. This convenient system can be accessed by visiting the Louisiana State Police website (lsp.org) and clicking on the “Report Suspicious or Criminal Activity” link. The submitted reports are then directed to the appropriate investigators for further action.
