Operating a vehicle under the influence of substances such as alcohol and drugs is highly unsafe for the driver and others on the road. These substances can negatively affect reaction speed, judgment abilities, and general cognitive functions, leading to a heightened probability of crashes. Driving in such a state can lead to severe injuries and even loss of life. It can also result in legal troubles and cause long-term emotional distress to victims and their families.

So far in 2023, Troop C conducted investigations into 22 deadly accidents, which led to 25 deaths.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
