Louisiana Motorcyclist Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash on US Hwy 90 in St. Tammany Parish

Slidell, Louisiana – A fatal motorcycle crash occurred on November 18, 2024, at approximately 5:30 p.m. in St. Tammany Parish, resulting in the death of a 64-year-old man. Troopers with the Louisiana State Police Troop L responded to the incident on US Hwy 90 at the East Middle Pearl River Bridge.

According to the preliminary investigation, the victim, identified as Roy Provost of Pearl River, was traveling westbound on US Hwy 90 on a 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. As he approached the closed East Middle Pearl River Bridge, Provost struck an embankment in front of the bridge, causing him to be ejected from the motorcycle.

Although Provost was wearing a Department of Transportation (DOT)-)-approved helmet, he sustained fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. A routine toxicology sample was obtained from Provost for analysis as part of the ongoing investigation.

Louisiana State Police Troop L is currently investigating the incident, and no further information is available at this time.
