Louisiana Motorcyclist Killed in Single Vehicle Crash After Running Off the Roadway on LA 425
Catahoula Parish, Louisiana – The Louisiana State Police have confirmed that LSP Troop E responded to a single-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 425 near Clayton on December 25, 2022, at around 2:30 p.m. Thomas W. Pritchard, 63, of Vidalia, Louisiana, died as a result of the collision.
The initial investigation found that Pritchard was riding a 2005 Honda motorcycle southbound on Louisiana Highway 425. The motorcycle went off the left side of the road and flipped for reasons that are currently under investigation. This resulted in Pritchard being ejected off the motorcycle.
Pritchard was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, but sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Samples for toxicology analysis were collected.
While the reason for this collision is still being investigated, distracted and inattentive driving is one of the primary causes of collisions in our state. The Louisiana State Police asks all drivers to remain vigilant while on the road. A lapse in awareness can have fatal implications.
