Tickfaw, Louisiana – A fatal multi-vehicle crash occurred on October 27, 2024, at approximately 11:00 a.m. on LA Hwy 1064 at Addison Road in Tangipahoa Parish, resulting in the death of 31-year-old Brandon Scott McAlister of Denham Springs, Louisiana.

According to the preliminary investigation by Louisiana State Police Troop L, McAlister was driving a 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound in the eastbound lane on LA Hwy 1064. Another motorcyclist, driving a 2021 Harley-Davidson, was following McAlister in the same lane. Meanwhile, a 2005 Toyota Corolla was traveling westbound in the westbound lane on LA Hwy 1064, approaching the intersection of Addison Road.

As the Corolla slowed down to turn left, McAlister’s motorcycle struck the rear of the vehicle, causing him to be ejected from the motorcycle. The 2021 Harley-Davidson then collided with the 2005 Harley-Davidson, ejecting its driver as well.

Despite wearing a DOT-approved helmet, McAlister sustained fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the 2021 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, also wearing a DOT-approved helmet, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The driver of the Corolla was properly restrained and uninjured, providing a breath sample that tested 0.000 g%.

Toxicology tests are being conducted on the drivers of both Harley-Davidson motorcycles as part of the ongoing investigation. The Louisiana State Police are urging anyone with information about the crash to come forward and assist in the investigation.

The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safe driving practices and adherence to traffic laws. Motorcyclists are reminded to always wear proper safety gear, including helmets, and to ride defensively. Drivers of other vehicles are encouraged to be vigilant and aware of motorcyclists on the road.
