Louisiana Motorcyclist Killed in 2-Vehicle Morning Crash on LA 28

Louisiana - On November 2, 2022, Louisiana State Police Troop E responded to a two-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 28 West at White Oak Lane at approximately 6:00 a.m. Nicolas Nichols, 41, of Boyce, Louisiana, was killed in the crash.

The initial inquiry found that a 16-year-old juvenile was driving a 2014 Toyota westbound on Louisiana Highway 28 West. The teenager drove into the median crossover and attempted to turn left onto White Oak Lane for unknown reasons. This action put the Toyota in the line of an eastbound 2019 Suzuki driven by Nichols, resulting in a collision.

Nichols suffered fatal injuries in the incident and was pronounced dead at the scene. The juvenile was restrained, had minor injuries, and was sent to a nearby hospital. A toxicological sample was collected and submitted for testing. This crash is still being investigated.

Troop E Troopers have investigated 47 fatal crashes so far in 2022, resulting in 49 fatalities.
