Ouachita Parish, Louisiana – Louisiana State Police Troop F initiated an investigation into a fatal three-vehicle crash on US-80 near LA-594 on the evening of Monday, December 11, 2023. The collision resulted in the tragic death of 42-year-old Christopher Chambliss from Monroe, Louisiana.

The initial findings indicate that a 1999 Lincoln Continental driven by Kevin Walker was heading east on US-80, while a 2014 Harley-Davidson motorcycle ridden by Chambliss was traveling west on the same road. The Lincoln made a left turn into the path of the Harley-Davidson for reasons that are still being looked into. This led to a collision between the two vehicles, causing Chambliss to be thrown off his motorcycle and hit by a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado traveling behind the Lincoln.

Despite wearing a DOT approved helmet, Chambliss succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Although there is no suspicion of impairment, standard toxicology samples were gathered for analysis. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.

Louisiana State Police indicated that while they continue to investigate the cause of this tragic event, they want to emphasize the importance of prioritizing safety while driving. It’s crucial to avoid distractions and never drive under the influence as these actions can have serious consequences for you and others on the road. Staying focused, alert, and responsible every time you’re behind the wheel is essential for ensuring everyone’s safety in our community.
