Louisiana Men Arrested for Alleged Catalytic Converter Theft After Alarm Company Report and Assistance from K-9 Officer

Shreveport, Louisiana - Two Louisiana men were arrested for alleged catalytic converter theft after an alarm company report and assistance from a K-9 officer.

According to the Shreveport Police Department, patrol officers were dispatched to an alarm report in the 8700 block of Business Park Drive on March 20, 2023, around midnight. Officers were told en route that the alarm company had seen somebody attempting to steal catalytic converters from a vehicle parked in this area.

As the Officer arrived, one of the suspects was promptly apprehended. Shreveport Police K-9 "Barry" was sent in to track down the second suspect. After scanning the parking area between many rows of automobiles for several minutes, K9 Barry discovered Kevin Mckeavor, 21, hiding inside a box truck.

Mckeavor was apprehended and treated for minor injuries after being charged with Felony Theft.
At the time this was published, the second suspect had not yet been identified.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
