Louisiana Man Who Allegedly Set Fire to an Apartment Near a Relative’s Home has been Arrested for Aggravated Arson

Louisiana – The Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office (LASFM) reported on September 30, 2022, that it had arrested a Lecompte, Louisiana man for allegedly setting fire to an apartment unit just feet away from a relative’s home.

Izaih Lloyd, 36, of Lecompte, Louisiana, was arrested on September 28 and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center on one count of Aggravated Arson and an unrelated warrant.
The Lecompte Fire Department responded to reports of an apartment fire in the 3000 block of Pine Street early Tuesday, Sept. 27. Firefighters learned that the fire was discovered by police officers who were in the neighborhood investigating a trespassing call involving Lloyd.

Following an examination of the incident, including witness accounts, LASFM deputies established that the fire was deliberately started in the bedroom of an apartment above a storage area. The structure is six feet away from an occupied mobile home at the time of the fire.

Following more investigation, Lloyd was identified as the culprit in the case and arrested.

The LASFM thanked the Lecompte Police Department for their cooperation in resolving this matter.
