While detectives from the Beauregard-DeRidder Narcotics Task Force were on their way to assist the Sulphur Police Department, they received a call from DeRidder Police Department dispatch informing them of an anonymous tip that Billy Hyatt’s white and red Chevrolet truck was currently parked in the 1200 Block of Ravia Road, at the second to last trailer.
Officers approached the second-to-last trailer when they noticed a red Ford truck leaving the area where the Chevrolet truck was parked. Bridget Cooley, the driver, was apprehended by Task Force detectives.

Officers approaching the trailer noticed a person fleeing from the vicinity of the Chevrolet truck into a nearby wood line. Officers apprehended the man and identified him as Billy Hyatt. Hyatt was placed in the back of a Sulphur Police Department patrol unit.

The Sulphur Police Department charged Hyatt with possession of Schedule II methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and resisting an officer.
