Louisiana Man Wanted for Allegedly Beating and Choking His Girlfriend for Several Days Arrested in Texas

Caddo Parish, Louisiana – A Louisiana man who was wanted for allegedly beating and choking his girlfriend for several days has been arrested in Texas.

According to Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator, a Keithville, Louisiana man was arrested for allegedly beating and choking his girlfriend over the course of two days.
Around 11:32 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2022, the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office was called to the 9900 block of Mansfield Road in regard to a domestic battery. The victim said that her boyfriend, Emmanuel Reyes, 30, of Keithville, Louisiana, punched and choked her during an argument the day before at their residence in the 2600 block of Barron Road. Following that, Reyes allegedly sexually assaulted her. One of their young children was present at the time of the occurrence but was unharmed.

The assault continued the next day at their workplace in the 9400 block of Forbing Road, where Reyes reportedly hit her again in relation to the same argument. They left work together, and as he drove out of the parking lot, he began to strike her in the face and choke her. They came to a halt near the 9900 block of Mansfield Road, where the beating was still going on. Reyes got out of the car and fled after hearing police sirens. At the time, the sheriff’s office was summoned for assistance, and an investigation was initiated.

Sheriff’s Detective Demetrice Adams-Ellis was unable to find Reyes during the investigation. On December 12, she secured an arrest warrant for him on one count of domestic abuse battery with strangulation and one count of domestic abuse battery with child endangerment.

On February 10, Reyes was apprehended and detained in Houston, Texas, on the outstanding warrant. He was extradited on February 21 and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center, where he is being held on a $150,000 bond. The sexual assault investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are possible.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
