Louisiana Man Turns Himself in After Warrant Issued for Allegedly Sending Sexually Explicit Video of Himself to a Juvenile

Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana – A Louisiana man has turned himself in after a warrant was issued for allegedly sending a sexually explicit video of himself to a juvenile.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) reported on March 23, 2023, that on September 21, 2022, CPSO Special Victims Unit detectives received a complaint concerning Maverick Harper, 27, of Iowa, Louisiana, allegedly sending inappropriate messages to a girl under the age of 15.

During the inquiry, investigators reportedly discovered Harper sent a sexually explicit video of himself to the juvenile via social media (Snapchat). Authorities continued their investigation and recently interviewed Harper, who reportedly acknowledged his indecent behavior.
On March 22, investigators issued a warrant for Harper’s arrest, which was signed by Judge Tony Fazzio. He turned himself in to the CPSO Warrants Division on March 23 and was arrested, booked, and charged with indecent behavior with a juvenile at the Calcasieu Correctional Center. Later, he was released on a $150,000 bond.

Detective Melanie Veillon of the CPSO is the case’s principal investigator.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
