Louisiana Man Sentenced to Life in Prison in Iowa, LA Murder Case

On December 17, 2021, Judge David Ritchie sentenced Scot M. Kidd, 37, of Kinder, LA, to two life sentences without the possibility of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence on two charges of first-degree murder, according to the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office. The sentences will run consecutively.
Kidd broke into the victims’ home in Iowa, LA, without permission in 2020. Kidd violently shot and killed the victims upon entering the home, and stole their valuables before fleeing the scene.
The case was prosecuted by the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office’s First Assistant District Attorney Jacob Johnson and Assistant District Attorney Joey Williams.
