Louisiana Man Sentenced to Life in Prison for Shooting His Ex-Girlfriend While Driving

Louisiana – Michael E. Vice, 50, of Lake Charles, LA, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence on one count of second-degree murder on February 22, 2022.
Vice and his ex-girlfriend were driving down the road in 2018 when Vice shot her in the head with a pistol. Vice then dialed 911 and reported that she had shot herself inadvertently. At the scene, the victim was pronounced dead. Officers from Lake Charles arrived on the scene and arrested Vice. Vice provided multiple versions of the story, according to the investigation.

The Calcasieu Parish Coroner confirmed that the gunshot wound was caused by a contact shot.

Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office Assistant District Attorneys Conrad Huber and Charles Robinson prosecuted the case.
