Louisiana Man Sentenced to Life in Prison For Murder After Being Hired to Kill Someone

Lake Charles, Louisiana – A Louisiana man has been sentenced to life in prison for murder after being hired to kill someone.

On July 21, 2023, Jermaine Washington, Jr., a 27-year-old from Lake Charles, received a life sentence without the possibility of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence. Judge Robert Wyatt handed down the sentence after Washington was found guilty of First Degree Murder. Additionally, Washington was sentenced to 20 years in prison for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

The charges stem from an incident in 2018 where Washington was hired to kill someone. He strategically carried out the plan resulting in the victim’s death.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Charles Robinson and Conrad Huber on behalf of the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office. The sentence for the Possession of a Firearm charge will run concurrently with the life sentence.
