Louisiana Man Sentenced to Almost 6 Years in Prison for Drug Trafficking

Louisiana – A Louisiana man has been sentenced to 70 months in prison after an FBI investigation into the sale of methamphetamine.
Samuel Holbert Brumfield a/k/a “Sammy B,” 35, of Many, Louisiana, has been sentenced by United States District Judge Donald E. Walter, United States Attorney Brandon B. Brown announced. Brumfield was sentenced to 70 months in prison, followed by 3 years of supervised release, on drug trafficking charges.
On June 16, 2021, a federal grand jury indicted Brumfield on three counts of methamphetamine distribution and one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. On September 28, 2021, Brumfield pleaded guilty to a charge of methamphetamine distribution.
According to evidence presented to the court at the guilty plea hearing, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) launched an investigation in early 2021 into the trafficking of methamphetamine in the Sabine Parish, Louisiana area. Agents were able to identify Brumfield as the person who sold approximately 58 grams of methamphetamine to another individual on April 26, 2021, in the Sabine Parish area. The methamphetamine purchased from Brumfield was seized and transported to a crime lab, where it was tested and confirmed to be methamphetamine.
The FBI investigated the case, which was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney J. Aaron Crawford.
