Louisiana Man Sentenced to 5 Years for Distribution of Methamphetamine
A Louisiana man has been sentenced to 5 years in prison after he pleaded guilty in September 2021 to distributing methamphetamine.
Louisiana – United States Attorney Brandon B. Brown announced on March 2, 2022, in United States District Court that a Louisiana man was sentenced for distributing methamphetamine. Frank Gilford Joshua, IV, 34, of Shreveport, Louisiana, was sentenced to 60 months in prison and 5 years of supervised release by Chief United States District Judge S. Maurice Hicks, Jr.
In September 2020, a federal grand jury indicted Joshua and eight other co-defendants on drug trafficking charges. On September 20, 2021, he pleaded guilty to three counts of methamphetamine distribution. The charges stem from a DEA investigation into the distribution and sale of methamphetamine in the Shreveport/Bossier City area. Agents were able to intercept Joshua’s phone calls and conduct surveillance on three separate occasions in July and August of 2018, as well as again in January of 2019, and observed him selling methamphetamine to individuals after making arrangements to do so over the phone.
The DEA investigated the case, and U.S. Attorney Brandon B. Brown prosecuted it.
This case is part of an ongoing operation by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF). OCDETF uses a prosecutor-led, intelligence-driven, multi-agency approach to identify, disrupt, and dismantle the highest-level criminal organizations that pose a threat to the United States.
