Louisiana Man Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash on LA 361 After His Vehicle Left the Roadway and Overturned

Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana – A Louisiana man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on LA 361 after his vehicle left the roadway and overturned.

Louisiana State Police (LSP) Troop E responded to a one-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 361 south of Louisiana Highway 362 at around 5:00 p.m. on March 19, 2023. Ronald V. Turner, 76, of Evergreen, Louisiana, was killed in the crash.

Turner was driving a 2012 Chevy Cruze south on Louisiana Highway 361, according to the preliminary inquiry. Turner’s vehicle left the roadway and proceeded down the ditch embankment before rolling onto its roof for unknown reasons.

Turner, who was restrained at the time of the crash, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Routine toxicological samples were collected and analyzed.

This crash is still being investigated.

While the reason for this crash is still being investigated, distracted and inattentive driving remains a significant cause of accidents in our state. Louisiana State Police advises all motorists to drive cautiously. A failure in judgment can have fatal repercussions.
