Louisiana Man Killed in Morning Single-Vehicle Rollover Crash on US 61

Louisiana – Louisiana State Police reported that on October 12, 2022, at approximately 6:15 a.m., Troopers with LSP Troop B began investigating a serious injury crash on US 61 near Cleary Avenue in Metairie. Arden Fairleigh III, 72, of Kenner, Louisiana, was killed in the crash.

The initial inquiry found that Fairleigh was driving a 2011 Toyota Tacoma south on US 61 near LA 3139. (Earhart Boulevard). The Toyota went off the road to the right for unknown reasons, colliding with a parked vehicle before rolling.

Fairleigh, who was properly restrained at the time of the accident, sustained life-threatening injuries and was sent to a nearby hospital, where he died. Fairleigh is not suspected of being impaired, but normal toxicology results are pending.

Troopers want to urge drivers to always make wise decisions when driving. Never drive while inebriated, fatigued, or distracted, and always obey all traffic rules. While not all car accidents are avoidable, simple precautions like these can frequently mean the difference between life and death.
