Louisiana Man Killed in Morning Pedestrian-Vehicle Crash on LA 28
Louisiana – On October 25, 2022, Louisiana State Police reported that soon before 5:00 a.m., LSP Troop E responded to a fatal crash on Louisiana Highway 28 West at Stovall Road. David W. Paige, 58, of Alexandria, Louisiana, was killed in this crash.
Paige was reportedly walking on the road when he was hit by an eastbound 2019 Ford Fiesta, according to the preliminary investigation. As a result, Paige suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Routine toxicological tests are being conducted. The accident is still being investigated.
Pedestrians should always make themselves visible to automobiles by wearing bright/light-colored clothing and reflective materials. Pedestrians should always walk on the sidewalk, but if one is not available, they should walk as close to the roadway edge as possible and face traffic. Pedestrians should carry a flashlight when walking at night for increased safety.
