Louisiana Man Killed in Early Morning Crash on LA 719 When a Car Collided with the UTV He was Driving
Lafayette Parish, Louisiana – A Louisiana man was killed in an early morning crash involving an off-road vehicle when his UTV was hit from behind by a car.
Louisiana State Police reported that Troopers from LSP Troop I was notified of a fatal crash involving an off-road vehicle on Louisiana Highway 719 (Riceland Rd) at Ridge Road in Lafayette Parish soon before 1:30 a.m. on January 15, 2023. A man named Stacy Bourque, 58, of Rayne, Louisiana, was killed in the crash.
The incident occurred as Bourque was traveling south on LA Hwy 719 in a 2022 Honda Pioneer UTV, according to the preliminary investigation. A 1998 Buick LeSabre was also being driven south at the same time. Bourque was ejected as the Buick collided with the rear of the UTV.
Bourque was unrestrained in the UTV. The Lafayette Parish Coroner’s Office pronounced him deceased at the scene. The Buick driver was restrained and sent to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. At this moment, impairment is unknown, although a toxicological sample was acquired from both drivers for analysis. This crash is still being investigated.
