Louisiana Man Dies in Single-Vehicle Rollover Crash on LA 10
Allen Parish, Louisiana – A Louisiana man died in a single-vehicle crash in Allen Parish, Louisiana, after his 2006 GMC Sierra left the roadway and flipped over.
The Louisiana State Police reported on December 16, 2022, that at approximately 1:15 p.m., LSP Troop D responded to a single-vehicle crash on LA Highway 10 just west of Callahan Road in Allen Parish. Phillip L. Veazey, 80, of Oberlin, Louisiana, died as a result of the collision.
The initial inquiry found that Veazey was driving a 2006 GMC Sierra eastbound on LA 10 in the direction of travel. The GMC exited the roadway, drove through a ditch, and started to flip over for unknown reasons. Veazey was thrown from the vehicle as a result of the collision.
Veazey, who was not restrained, sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the authorities. Samples were gathered and submitted for toxicology analysis. The inquiry into this crash continues.
LSP said that drivers should always ensure that every passenger is properly restrained and observe all traffic regulations. Taking such basic precautions can frequently be the difference between life and death.
