Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana – A 46-year-old Kentwood resident lost his life Tuesday evening in a single-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 10 in Tangipahoa Parish, according to Louisiana State Police.
Chad Easley was driving eastbound in a 1999 Dodge Ram when his vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a tree just west of LA 1054. The incident occurred shortly before 10:00 p.m. on April 15, 2025.
According to the preliminary investigation conducted by Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop L, Easley was properly wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Despite this safety precaution, he suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
While authorities do not currently suspect impairment as a factor in the crash, investigators have collected a standard toxicology sample for laboratory analysis, following routine protocol for fatal traffic incidents.
The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation as troopers work to determine why Easley’s vehicle left the roadway.

Troopers also stressed the importance of obeying traffic laws and ensuring that all vehicle occupants are properly restrained.
