Louisiana Man Dies in High-Speed Crash After Running From on US 90B

Gretna, Louisiana – A tragic single-vehicle crash on Terry Parkway near US 90B in Jefferson Parish has resulted in the death of 29-year-old Quentin Solete Jr. of New Orleans, Louisiana. The incident occurred shortly after 1:30 a.m. on July 21, 2024, when Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop B responded to the scene.

According to the initial investigation, Solete was traveling eastbound on the upper level of US 90B in a 1999 Chevrolet Camaro at a high rate of speed. Troopers attempted to stop Solete for a speeding violation but lost sight of his vehicle shortly after. A short time later, the Camaro was discovered crashed on Terry Parkway near US 90B, where it had flipped several times and struck a light pole.

Solete was ejected from the vehicle and suffered serious injuries as a result. He was transported to University Medical Center (UMC) in New Orleans, where he succumbed to his injuries on August 10, 2024. The use of restraints and potential impairment are currently unknown and are still under investigation.

The Louisiana State Police wish to remind motorists of the importance of making responsible decisions while driving.
