ASSUMPTION PARISH, La. — A 71-year-old Napoleonville man died after his vehicle left the roadway and struck a residence in Assumption Parish on the evening of Nov. 26, 2025, according to Louisiana State Police.
Troop C investigators reported that the single-vehicle crash happened shortly after 6 p.m. on Franklin Avenue near Philosopher Street. The crash involved a 2008 Nissan Rogue driven by Lonnie Robinson of Napoleonville.
Based on the preliminary investigation, troopers said Robinson was traveling west on Franklin Street when, for reasons still under investigation, the Nissan ran off the roadway and hit a residence. No additional details about the home, possible occupants, or property damage were released in the initial report.
State Police said Robinson was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and sustained serious injuries. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
As part of standard procedure in fatal roadway incidents, a toxicology sample was collected from Robinson and submitted for analysis. Toxicology testing examines blood or other samples to determine whether alcohol, drugs, or other substances were present. Results had not been released at the time of the initial report.
Louisiana State Police noted that the crash remains under investigation. No information has been provided yet on potential contributing factors such as speed, roadway conditions, or possible medical issues.
