Louisiana Man Dies After Truck Crashes into Utility Pole, Overturns, and Hits Two Parked Vehicles

Vermilion Parish, Louisiana – A Louisiana man died after his truck crashed into a utility pole, overturned, and hit two parked vehicles. 

According to Louisiana State Police, Troopers from LSP Troop I were notified of a vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 3267 (Jacqulyn Street) near Louisiana Highway 82 in Vermilion Parish shortly after 2:15 p.m. on February 1, 2023. Brian D. Broussard, 61, of Abbeville, Louisiana, was killed in the crash.

The initial investigation by State Police revealed that Broussard was driving a 2013 Ford F150 southbound on LA 3267 at the time of the crash. The F150 exited the highway to the left for unknown reasons and collided with a utility pole. After colliding with the pole, the F150 overturned and collided with two unoccupied parked vehicles in a private parking lot on the 200 block of Jacqulyn St. before the vehicle came to rest on its roof.

Broussard was restrained at the time of the accident, according to troopers. The Vermilion Parish Coroner’s Office declared him dead at the scene. This crash is still being investigated, and a toxicology sample was obtained for analysis.
