Louisiana Man Arrested Suspected of a Drive-By Shooting that Left Two People Injured.

Ascension Parish, Louisiana – A Louisiana man has been arrested suspected of a drive-by shooting that left two people injured.

According to Ascension Parish Sheriff Bobby Webre, Quendez Vancourt, 20, of Convent, Louisiana, was arrested on Thursday, February 2, 2023, in connection with a drive-by shooting in Sorrento, Louisiana. He faces two counts of attempted first-degree murder, assault by drive-by shooting, illegal use of weapons, and aggravated criminal property damage.

Deputies responded to reports of a shooting on New Orleans Street in Sorrento at approximately 1:00 a.m. on Monday, October 10, 2022. Deputies arrived to find a vehicle hit by multiple gunshots. Two people who were inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting were also hit by gunfire. Both victims were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and recovered from their injuries.
APSO Violent Crimes Unit detectives identified Quendez Vancourt as a suspect during their investigation and obtained an arrest warrant for him. Detectives assisted by the US Marshall’s Service

Vancourt, East Baton Rouge Parish Task Force. On unrelated charges, he was arrested and booked into the EBR Parish Jail. He will later be transported to the Ascension Parish Jail for the charges stemming from the Sorrento shooting.
