Louisiana Man Arrested Suspected in the Death of His 6-Month-Old Child in Baton Rouge

Baton Rouge, Louisiana – A man from Louisiana has been arrested and is suspected to be involved in the death of his 6-month-old child in Baton Rouge.

The Baton Rouge Police Department revealed on June 6, 2023, that Homicide Detectives arrested Luciano Livious Sr, 25, for the alleged killing of his 6-month-old son.

On June 3, 2023, the infant was sent to a nearby hospital for treatment of an injury. On June 5, 2023, the infant died from what authorities indicated appeared to be non-accidental injuries. An autopsy was performed, and the cause of death was determined to be homicide. Police suspect the baby died as a result of Shaken Baby Syndrome.

Livious was arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Murder and Cruelty to a Juvenile in East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

According to BRPD, this is an ongoing investigation.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
