Lafayette Parish, Louisiana – A St. Martinville man has been arrested on multiple charges, including vehicular homicide, following an October crash that claimed the life of a Texas woman on Interstate 10 in Lafayette Parish.
Brandon Adams, 33, of St. Martinville, Louisiana was taken into custody on December 26, 2024, after toxicology results revealed illegal narcotics in his system at the time of the crash. The October 28 incident resulted in the death of Ashley Campbell, 38, of Temple, Texas, who was an unrestrained passenger in Adams’ 2024 Hyundai Santa Cruz.
According to Louisiana State Police Troop I investigators, the crash occurred just before 1:00 a.m. when Adams’ vehicle struck the rear of an unidentified commercial motor vehicle near Louisiana Highway 343. The impact caused the Hyundai to veer off the roadway while the commercial vehicle continued westbound.
Adams and a juvenile passenger sustained moderate injuries and were transported to a local hospital. Campbell was pronounced dead at the scene.
The arrest warrant led to multiple charges against Adams, including vehicular homicide, vehicular negligent injuring, careless operation, and violations related to child passenger restraint and seatbelt requirements. He was also charged with operating a vehicle while his license was suspended.
