Ponchatoula, Louisiana — A 30-year-old Tangipahoa Parish man is facing more than 700 criminal charges after Louisiana State Police discovered child sexual abuse material during an investigation that began with a complaint about non-consensual image sharing.
Tyler A. Adkins, 30, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, was arrested Oct. 23, 2025, and booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on 728 counts of pornography involving juveniles and one count of nonconsensual disclosure of a private image.
The investigation began in August 2025 when the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit received a report from a complainant stating that personal private images were sent without consent to another cell phone number, according to LSP.
Through investigative methods, LSP Special Victims Unit identified Adkins as the owner of the cell phone number in question. Detectives obtained and executed a search warrant for the device, conducted interviews with Adkins, and seized his cellphone.
A forensic examination of the phone revealed photographs of the complainant as well as over 700 images and videos of child sexual abuse material, which refers to visual depictions of minors engaged in sexual conduct.
On Oct. 23, 2025, LSP Special Victims Unit executed search warrants at Adkins' residence with assistance from LSP Technical Support Unit, LSP Insurance Fraud/Auto Theft, and Tangipahoa Sheriff's Office. While law enforcement personnel searched the residence, Adkins met with detectives at a separate location, where he was taken into custody without incident.
Additional charges are possible pending forensic examination of items seized from Adkins' residence, according to LSP.
The charge of pornography involving juveniles under Louisiana Revised Statute 14:81.1 carries penalties that can include imprisonment at hard labor and substantial fines. Nonconsensual disclosure of a private image, outlined in Louisiana Revised Statute 14:283.2, involves intentionally distributing intimate images of another person without their consent.
The Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit investigates crimes against children and vulnerable adults throughout the state. The unit works in coordination with other law enforcement agencies and specialized units to identify and arrest individuals who exploit minors.
All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
