Louisiana Man Arrested in Sulphur After a High-Speed Pursuit and Foot Chase in Beauregard Parish
Louisiana – A Louisiana man was arrested on January 13, 2023, after a high-speed pursuit and foot chase the previous day. The man is suspected of stealing a vehicle and was apprehended by officers from the Sulphur Police Department.

On January 12, 2023, the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office was notified by the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office regarding a high-speed pursuit on Highway 111 in Evans, which was moving north into Vernon Parish.
A Merryville Police Officer was pursuing a stolen vehicle, according to the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The driver then left the vehicle on foot into a densely wooded region, according to the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office immediately canvassed the area in an unsuccessful attempt to locate the suspect.
A resident discovered a male individual in a shop near his home around 8:00 p.m. The individual was allowed to use the citizen’s cell phone before leaving the premises on foot.
The individual identified himself to the resident as Christopher Rainwater throughout this discussion.
Throughout the night, the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office canvassed the area and remained in the Evans Community.
The Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office received a stolen vehicle report at 6:42 a.m.
The automobile was stolen from a home near the Beauregard-Vernon Parish line on Highway 111 South.
Officers from the Sulphur Police Department pulled over the stolen vehicle at 10:00 a.m.
Christopher Rainwater, 38, of Singer, was apprehended on the spot.
Rainwater will face criminal charges in Vernon Parish as a result of the vehicle theft on January 13th.
The Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office will likely file further charges.
Vernon Parish Sheriff Craft applauded the efforts of all law enforcement agencies in apprehending Rainwater.
Sheriff Craft also commended the Evans Community residents for their patience and vigilance in this subject.
