Louisiana Man Arrested in Connection with June 24 Murder
According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, Lawrence Gaines, 46, has been arrested for his role in the June 24, 2022 murder of Kimberly Dean, 49, of Renoir Ave. Uniformed officers were called to the scene after Dean’s body was discovered inside her apartment by family members.
An autopsy was performed by the East Baton Rouge Coroner’s Office, which determined Dean died from injuries consistent with blunt force trauma.
Gaines was arrested after Baton Rouge Police conducted an investigation. Gaines was arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Murder in East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
The BRPD indicated that the investigation is still ongoing.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
