Louisiana Man Arrested in Connection with Child Pornography After Sheriff’s Office Receives Cybercrime Tip
Jennings, Louisiana – A 22-year-old resident of Jennings, Louisiana, has been arrested and booked on one count of pornography involving juveniles after an investigation by the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office revealed on September 13, 2022, that deputies had initiated an investigation in response to a cyber tip received by the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office.
On or around June 5, 2022, a child pornographic film was published on Instagram and forwarded to another user’s account, according to the cybercrime tip.
Investigators analyzed the video associated with this cyber tip after receiving the information and decided that it was illegal. According to authorities, the video is 1 minute and three seconds long and depicts a male and a juvenile female engaging in sexual activity.
Deputies requested a warrant to determine the IP address and whereabouts of the account’s subscriber. Consequently, deputies were able to identify a suspect.
The investigation led deputies to Jennings, Louisiana resident Logan Michael Crochet, age 22. On December 21, 2022, a warrant was acquired and Crochet was arrested and booked on 1 count of pornography involving juveniles.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
