Louisiana Man Arrested in Connection with 1,695 Recordings and Photographs of Child Pornography and Animal Sexual Abuse After Fleeing the State
Shreveport, Louisiana – The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office revealed on August 31, 2022, that a Shreveport, Louisiana man was apprehended in Ohio by U.S. marshals after Caddo detectives discovered over a thousand recordings and photographs of child pornography and animal sexual abuse in his possession.
Detective Thomas Lites of the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit revealed Darren Dew, 32, of Shreveport, Louisiana, had downloaded, saved, and uploaded pornography involving children as young as three years old during a forensic investigation. Detective Lites also discovered evidence of sexual abuse on a dog.
Dew allegedly went to Ohio shortly after learning about the investigation.
On Tuesday, August 30, Darren Dew, 32, was arrested. He will be extradited and charged with 1,694 charges of child pornography and one count of animal sexual abuse and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
