Louisiana Man Arrested in Connection with 100 Couts of Distribution of Pornography Involving Juveniles and Other Charges
Louisiana – On September 8, 2022, Louisiana State Police revealed that in July 2022, investigators from the LSP Special Victims Unit initiated an investigation into the distribution of child pornography with the aid of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office. Investigators discovered that someone was spreading photographs of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), which led to the arrest of Charles Edward Crawford Jr., 37, of Gonzales, Louisiana.
Investigators obtained a search warrant at Crawford’s home on September 7th. Several electronics were seized from the residence during the search. A forensic investigation of the seized equipment found several CSAM recordings and photos. Crawford was then arrested for violating LRS 14:81.1 Distribution of Pornography Involving Juveniles (100 counts) and LRS 14:81.1 Possession of Pornography Involving Juveniles (100 counts) (100 counts). The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office also arrested and jailed Crawford for violating LRS 40:967 Possession of Schedule II Narcotics. This investigation is still ongoing, and no other information is available at this time.
A booking photo had not been released at the time this was published.
The LSP Special Victims Unit works to rescue and bring to justice victims of crimes involving child exploitation and human trafficking for sex or labor.
