Louisiana Man Arrested for Trafficking a Child for Sexual Purposes

A Louisiana man has been arrested and charged with trafficking a child for sexual purposes and three counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
 
August 20, 2021, Troopers with the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit, along with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the New Orleans Police Department, made their fifth arrest in conjunction with the trafficking of a juvenile from an investigation that began in 2018. An arrest warrant was served on 30-year-old Cornell Cobbins of New Orleans. Authorities found and confiscated two handguns and a rifle while serving the arrest warrant on Cobbins.
 
Cobbins was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Prison charged with trafficking a child for sexual purposes and three counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
 
The Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit works to rescue and seek justice for the victims of crimes involving the exploitation of children and the trafficking of humans for sex or labor. The public plays an important role in identifying suspects accused of these crimes and is urged to report criminal or suspicious activity.
