Louisiana Man Arrested for Possession of Drugs Worth Approximately $18,500.00

The Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that in February 2022 the narcotics task force began investigating Adam Taug, aka “Taco,” 41, who was residing on Oak Street in Deridder, Louisiana at the time and was suspected of distributing a large amount of illegal narcotics in Beauregard Parish.

Taug is from Vernon Parish and has a long history of violent crime, along with the distribution of illegal narcotics. He was well known to the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office. The Narcotics Task Force stopped Taug in his vehicle on February 14, 2022, and executed a search warrant on his person, his vehicle, and his residence.

The following illegal narcotics were seized by the NTF: Over 3 ounces of methamphetamine; synthetic cannabinoids; more than 5 ounces of marijuana; more than 4 ounces of mushrooms; over 16 grams of cocaine; over 13 grams of ecstasy; and150 pills, all having a street value of approximately $18,500.00. The Narcotics Task Force also seized approximately $3000.00 cash plus baggies and scales.

The Narcotics Task Force will continue to aggressively investigate any subjects distributing illegal narcotics in Beauregard Parish.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
