Lafourche Parish, Louisiana – Louisiana State Police arrested a 35-year-old Houma resident in June 2025 as part of an ongoing investigation into the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material. The arrest was made after the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit (LSP/SVU) received a cyber-tip from the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, led by Attorney General Liz Murrill, concerning the online exploitation of minors. Authorities say the tip included evidence from a social media account suspected of sharing multiple videos depicting the sexual abuse of children.
Investigators from the LSP/SVU, Criminal Investigations Division – Houma Field Office, and Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office executed search and arrest warrants at Kraig Thibodeaux’s residence in the Bayou Blue community on June 26, 2025. Thibodeaux was taken into custody and processed at the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex.
Thibodeaux faces five counts of violating Louisiana Revised Statute 14:81.1 – Pornography Involving Juveniles Under the Age of 13, as well as one count of the same offense involving juveniles aged 13 to 16. Louisiana law defines pornography involving juveniles as the possession, distribution, or creation of visual depictions—such as photographs or videos—of a minor under 17 engaged in sexual activity or performances, regardless of the minor’s consent.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
