Caddo Parish, Louisiana – A Louisiana man has been arrested for attempted murder after allegedly setting fire to his ex-girlfriend’s house with her and five children inside.

The Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office (LASFM) revealed on March 27, 2023, that they had arrested a Keithville, Louisiana man for allegedly setting fire to his ex-girlfriend’s house while she and five children were inside.

Caddo Parish Fire District #4 responded to a report of a house fire in the 14000 block of Johns Gin Road near Keithville, Louisiana on Wednesday, March 22. Firefighters discovered a mother and five children were inside the home at the time of the incident, but all were able to escape safely.

LASFM deputies determined that the fire started in the attic and was purposefully ignited after assessing the area and taking witness accounts.
During the inquiry, deputies discovered that the homeowner and her ex-boyfriend, Sherrick, had an altercation soon before the fire.
