Caddo Parish, Louisiana - A Louisiana man was arrested for allegedly firing a gun from his vehicle during a domestic dispute. Only his own vehicle was damaged in the gunfire.
The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office reported on January 23, 2023, that a Shreveport, Louisiana man was arrested after allegedly firing a gun from his vehicle during a domestic dispute, according to Sheriff Steve Prator.
The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office was called to the intersection of Riding Club Lane and Old Carriage Trail at 2:43 a.m. on Monday, January 23, to investigate a report of gunfire. Sheriff's patrol deputies contacted all parties involved, discovered gunfire evidence, and notified the Sheriff's Criminal Investigation Division.
Sheriff's Detective Jeremy Edward responded to the call and learned that the incident was a domestic dispute in which Nicholas Ellis, 21, allegedly fired a gun at another person. While driving down Kingston Road and Riding Club Lane, Ellis allegedly fired up to four rounds from a pistol through the driver's side window of his car.
There were no injuries, and the only damage reported was to Ellis' car, which he shot.
Ellis was arrested and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for illegal use of a weapon or dangerous instrumentalities.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
