Louisiana Man Arrested for Alleged Possession of Drugs and Other Crimes After Attempting to Flee From Police in Caddo Parish
Shreveport, Louisiana – Caddo Parish Steve Prator said on November 30, 2022, that Narcotics agents with the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office apprehended a Shreveport, Louisiana man last week after reportedly discovering $7,590 in drugs in his possession.
According to reports, on Tuesday, November 22, the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division, DEA Taskforce, ATF Task Force, FBI Task Force, and the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit assisted Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office narcotics agents with a traffic stop and the execution of two search warrants on Emmanuel Barrett, 53, of Shreveport, Louisiana.
Deputies pulled Barrett over after discovering a minor under the age of 13 in his vehicle. Barrett’s pockets also allegedly contained 29 grams of methamphetamine and $784, according to K9 Deputy Bryant Mendolia. Barrett attempted but failed to flee. Agents then searched Barrett’s vehicle and his residence in the 9000 block of Mansfield Road. They seized 69 grams of methamphetamine with a street value of $6900, 69 grams of marijuana with a street value of $690, and $784 in cash in total.
Barrett was arrested and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on charges of possessing schedule II with intent to distribute, resisting an officer, and illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
