Louisiana Man Arrested for Alleged Narcotics Distribution Involving Fentanyl, Cocaine, Crack Cocaine, and Other Drugs and Firearms
Baton Rouge, Louisiana – A Louisiana man has been arrested for alleged illegal narcotics distribution after a search warrant was executed at his residence, where fentanyl, cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana, and other drugs and firearms were found.
On January 10, 2023, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office reported that over the past several months, EBRSO Narcotics with assistance from other agencies conducted an investigation into the illegal narcotics distribution being conducted by Jarod Harvey. During this investigation, EBRSO Narcotics made controlled video-recorded purchases of fentanyl and cocaine from Harvey.
On January 10, 2023, EBRSO Narcotics along with the Baton Rouge DEA task force, took Harvey into custody and executed a search warrant at his residence located in the 1500 Block of Lake Calais Ct.
The following was seized as a result.
The following narcotics and currency were seized (totals and values are approximate) 3.2 Ounces of Fentanyl (street value $7,200), 475 Fentanyl Pills (street value $14,250), ½ Pound of Cocaine (street value $8,000), 25 Grams of Crack Cocaine, ½ Pound of Methamphetamine (street value $2,800), ½ Pound of Marijuana, 52 dosage units of Oxycodone, 10 dosage units of Hydrocodone, 70 dosage units of Xanax, and $3,151 (pending seizure),
The following firearms were seized, Smith and Wesson handgun (9mm), Besa handgun (9mm), SCCY handgun (9mm), Browning handgun (.32 cal), Taurus handgun (.357 mag), Masterpeice Arms handgun (9mm), and an American Tactical AR pistol (.223 cal).
Jarod Harvey, 36 was arrested and charged with Distribution of Fentanyl (2 counts/affidavit warrant), Distribution of Cocaine (d counts/affidavit warrant), Possession with the intent to distribute Fentanyl, Possession with the intent to distribute Methamphetamine, Possession with the intent to distribute Crack Cocaine, Possession with the intent to distribute Powder Cocaine, Possession with the intent to distribute Marijuana, Possession with the intent to distribute Oxycodone, Possession with the intent to distribute Hydrocodone, Possession of a Firearm with Drugs, Possession of Drugs in the Presence of a Juvenile, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Authorities also reported that two children were present in the residence where the bulk of the narcotics was located and DCFS was notified.
Divisions assisting in the investigation included Baton Rouge DEA, HSI Air Support, and Central Police Department.
The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office also indicated that a large portion of this case was made possible by the Fentanyl overtime funding provided by the State via Senator Bodi White.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty.
