Louisiana Man Arrested for Aggravated Arson and Other Charges After Allegedly Setting Fire to Three Buildings

Louisiana – On November 22, 2022, the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office (LASFM) revealed that a Haynesville, Louisiana man was arrested for allegedly setting fire to three vacant buildings, two of which spread to adjoining structures with people inside.

Lorenzo Henderson, 28, of Haynesville, Louisiana, was booked into the Claiborne Parish Detention Center on Monday, Nov. 21, on two counts of Aggravated Arson and one count each of Simple Arson, Burglary, Trespassing, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

The Haynesville Fire Department responded to a call of a vacant house fire in the 600 block of McDonald Street at 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 20. When firefighters arrived, they discovered that the fire had spread to an adjacent home, which was occupied by a family. No one was hurt.

Several hours later, just after 4 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to the 8200 block of Highway 534, where an empty former church was on fire. When firefighters arrived, they discovered that the fire had spread to an adjacent home, where people were sleeping. No one was injured in this fire either.

Two hours later, another fire report came in for a fire in the 200 block of Zion Drive, where firefighters discovered an empty mobile home on fire.
The Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office was asked to examine the fires because of the unusual circumstances surrounding them.

Deputies found that the fires were intentionally set and that the fires were connected after inspecting them. Henderson was later named as a suspect in the cases after more investigation. Henderson lives in the home next to the church, which is owned by his relatives.

Henderson was apprehended while walking down Highway 79 near the police station. Henderson confirmed his involvement during an interrogation with deputies.
