Louisiana Man Arrested by LSP SVU and Other Authorities for Allegedly Soliciting a Minor and Indecent Behavior

Hammond, Louisiana – On February 19, 2025, the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit (LSP SVU) collaborated with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Tangipahoa Sheriff’s Office to apprehend 62-year-old Vincent Catalanotto from Robert, Louisiana for attempting to engage in inappropriate activities with a minor. 

On January 15, 2025, Catalanotto allegedly arranged a meeting with the intention of engaging in sexual activity with a minor by asking to travel for the purpose of sexual intercourse. Consequently, Catalanotto was arrested for breaching L.R.S. 14:81.3, which pertains to Computer-Aided Solicitation of a Minor, and L.R.S. 14:81, regarding Indecent Behavior with Juveniles. Catalanotto was taken to the Tangipahoa Parish Correctional Facility. The investigation into this matter is still ongoing and is currently active. 

The Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit (LSP SVU) collaborates with various local, state, and federal agencies, alongside educational outreach to help rescue and pursue justice for victims of child exploitation and human trafficking. An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
