Louisiana Man Arrested After Reportedly Admitting to Raping a Child Under 12
A Lake Charles, Louisiana man has been arrested and charged with first-degree rape after reportedly admitting to having sexual relations with a child under 12.
Lake Charles, LA – The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office reported on April 6, 2022, that on April 3, 2022, CPSO detectives responded to a local hospital in reference to a possible rape.
During the initial investigation, detectives discovered that Braylen M. Leday, 23, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, admitted to having sexual relations with a child under the age of 12, who was a family acquaintance. After speaking with detectives, Leday was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center, where he was charged with first-degree rape. His bond was set at $900,000 by Judge Tony Fazzio.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are possible.
Detective Melanie Veillon of the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is the lead investigator on this case.
