Louisiana Man Arrested After Police Locate Approximately $20k Worth of  MDMA, Fentanyl, Promethazine, Marijuana, Cocaine, and Fentanyl During a Traffic Stop

St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana – A Louisiana man has been arrested after police locate approximately $20,000 worth of MDMA, fentanyl, promethazine, marijuana, and cocaine during a traffic stop.

Following a traffic stop, St. Bernard Parish Sheriff James Pohlmann announced that the St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office apprehended a man for allegedly committing multiple crimes, including narcotics and firearms offenses.

Norman Pearley, 31, of Chalmette, Louisiana was arrested for allegedly  improperly displaying a temporary license plate, driving without a license, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute MDMA Ecstasy, possession of cocaine and fentanyl, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm by a person convicted of domestic abuse battery, and possession of a firearm while in possession of

Sheriff Pohlmann stated that on Wednesday, April 11, shortly before 10 p.m., Field Operations Bureau Patrol Division deputies in the Chalmette, Louisiana region performed a traffic stop on a white Kia Forte with an unreadable temporary license plate near Paris Road and West Prosper Street.

During the traffic stop, deputies reportedly discovered a strong marijuana odor emanating from the vehicle’s interior.
Deputies recovered MDMA Ecstasy with an estimated street value of $12,000, Promethazine Hydrochloride with an estimated street value of $6,000, marijuana with an estimated street value of $1,950, cocaine and fentanyl with an estimated street value of $340, a digital scale, and clear plastic packaging bags after searching Pearley’s vehicle.

Authorities also reportedly recovered a Smith and Wesson .9mm firearm.

Pearley was subjected to a criminal record check, which found that he is a convicted felon with prior convictions for false imprisonment while armed with a dangerous weapon, aggravated battery, and domestic abuse battery. It was also discovered that he did not have a valid driver’s license.

Based on the above findings, Pearley was transported to St. Bernard Parish Prison to be booked on the above charges.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
