Louisiana Man Arrested After Falling Through Ceiling While Allegedly Stealing Money and Goods from a Truck Stop

A 35-year-old man from Louisiana has been arrested for a business burglary after allegedly stealing money and goods from a truck stop.

Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator reported on January 15, 2023, that officers apprehended a Springhill, Louisiana man for alleged business burglary. According to authorities, Caddo Sheriff’s patrol officers were alerted to a suspicious occurrence at a truck stop in the 12000 block of Mansfield Road shortly before 2 a.m. on Sunday. A male had reportedly been loitering in the back of the business since 11 p.m. the night before, according to a clerk. The clerk couldn’t find the man after hearing a disturbance in the restroom and assumed he was in the attic.

Deputies contained the situation and examined the area, concluding that the man was in the attic. Because of the lack of structure in the ceiling, a K9 could not be deployed. Sergeant Rodney Spikes and K9 Corporal Marc Herring entered the attic and addressed the suspect verbally. In an attempt to flee, the suspect fell through the ceiling into a stack of tables and chairs. Deputies apprehended Sean Stock, 35, of Springhill, Louisiana, after a brief skirmish.

Stock allegedly broke into a manager’s locked office and stole money from there, according to deputies. His pockets were reportedly full of stolen goods, and a money bag containing nearly $1000 was duct taped to his stomach. Stock was taken to Ochsner LSU Health by Caddo Fire District No. 6.

Stock, of the 2000 block of South Arkansas Street in Springhill, Louisiana was arrested and placed into the Caddo Correctional Center after being released from the hospital for simple burglary and resisting an officer.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
